Can you believe it? It's March already! Which means soon enough it will be Spring which hopefully means warmer weather and sunnier days. If you're already gearing up your wardrobe for the new season and planning your
Spring outfits, you might want to consider these 7 must-have pieces that will help you transition your wardrobe from Winter to Spring.
The Denim Jacket
Ah the denim jacket never fails as a solid transitional piece. Once you can start shedding those heavy winter coats, the denim jacket steps in as a good replacement. They are thick enough to still provide warmth, yet the denim fabric gives a Spring edge. Wear them to toughen up girly skirts and layer them over thick jumpers on chillier days.
The Lightweight Sweater
With the 70s trend going strong this year, you will want to be adding a
roll neck sweater to your collection. They are perfect for layering and add a strong sense of character to any outfit. Alternatively, a patterned sweater in a light shade layered over your spring dresses will help add extra warmth and opens up an abundance of
print clashing opportunities.
Cropped Jeans
Cropped jeans are being spotted everywhere at the moment. The term "ankle biter" is no longer feared in the fashion world it seems! We actually love this trend and think it's an easy and simple way to switch up your
denim. You can either buy them already cropped or simply roll up the cuffs on your normal jeans. That little slice of flesh at the ankle instantly adds a touch of Spring to your look.
The White Shirt
The
white shirt is crisp and fresh and looks awesome paired with light denim, or for an alternative look your can layer a white shirt under a Spring dress. The white shirt will help add light to any look, even if it is just the peep of a collar.
The Jumper Dress
If you want to bare your pins as soon as possible after their hibernation over winter, the jumper dress could be the one for you! Alternatively, whilst it's still chilly you can wear it over a pair of trousers or jeans - however make sure to flash that little bit of flesh in other ways like showing off your ankles and choosing one with a deep v neck.
Ankle Boots
Ankle boots seriously are one the best ways to tone down a Spring outfit when the weather is just not ready for it yet. When it's not quite time yet to pair your Spring dresses or skirts with stilettos or sandals, the ankle boot rises to the occasion toughening up almost any look.
The Kimono
The kimono, whether in a cotton/jersey form or sheer and adorned with tassels, can prove to be a great cover up for your maxi dresses and vest tops whilst also making dark denim more Spring-ready. For a similar effect you can also don the
maxi cardigan.
